Hostgator Domain Name Server (DNS)

When you are redirecting your website to a new web hosting, you will need to modify the Domain Name Server (DNS) of your domain name. This is to set a new place where your domain name points to. In web hosting, DNS management is important because it maps the domains to the correct IP so that your website works properly.

In Hostgator, every subscriber does not necessary has the same DNS, it depends on the location of your server. However worry not as upon your hosting activation Hostgator will include all the necessary information in the welcome email. From there you will know your DNS. So what you need to do after that is to modify the DNS of your domain name with your domain registrant.
